Collymore Rock Nazarene Church invited Elaine’s Caribbean Crochet to facilitate crochet sessions as part of their Vacation Bible School (VBS). Over two weeks, we conducted one-hour crochet workshops for teenage participants. A different group of teenagers attended the second week, allowing us to reach and positively impact even more young people.
During the sessions, participants learned the half double crochet and treble crochet stitches, developing new practical skills while expressing their creativity. We also donated yarn for the VBS exhibit, enabling the teenagers to showcase the beautiful crochet pieces they created during the workshops.

Beyond teaching crochet, we had the opportunity to share biblical resources and distribute “Pass It On” cards of encouragement, combining creative learning with messages of faith, hope, and kindness.
We are grateful to God for allowing us to use the gifts and talents He has entrusted to us to serve others. It is a privilege to continue the legacy of Elaine Doyle by inspiring the next generation through crochet, faith, creativity, and community service.
As the month comes to a close, we are thankful for every opportunity to share the art of crochet, encourage young people, and make a positive impact in our community. We now look forward with excitement to launching the second iteration of Crochet for a Cause: Hooked on Healthy, where we will continue using crochet as a tool to promote healthy living, creativity, environmental awareness, and community engagement. We thank God for His continued guidance and provision and look forward to touching even more lives in the months ahead.
