Elaine’s Caribbean Crochet was privileged to have the opportunity to present on the topic of Social Entrepreneurship to the “Preparation for the World of Work” class at the Barbados Community College on Monday 30 March 2026.
Nikisha Toppin, as the Founder of the Elaine’s spoke to the pull factors behind starting Elaine’s as well as the purpose and impact of the enterprise across the Caribbean. She provided insights on the practical methods used to execute the business’s projects and programmes, as well as the partnerships developed to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
The PowerPoint presentation also addressed the opportunities available to creatives as well as the challenges that may arise along the journey.
Students within the class were encouraged to “Tell Your Story” and to document the impact that their potential businesses could achieve.
