Elaine’s Caribbean Crochet was honoured to participate in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre from October 5th – 12th, 2025. As part of the conference’s cultural showcase, Elaine’s proudly exhibited on the 7th and 8th of October, featuring products from the Crochet for a Cause: Ridge to Reef initiative. The display highlighted not only the beauty of Barbadian fibre artistry but also the heart of the social mission—empowering artisans and creating meaningful income opportunities through craft.
During the showcase, delegates from across the Commonwealth were introduced to the legacy of Elaine’s Caribbean Crochet and its commitment to preserving Barbadian craft heritage while nurturing a new generation of artisans. Attendees engaged deeply with the story behind Crochet for a Cause, expressing admiration for the model of social enterprise and the dedication to community upliftment through creative industry.
The two days offered rich cultural exchange and positioned Barbadian craftsmanship on the international stage, opening doors for future collaborations and reinforcing the value of handmade, purpose-driven local products as part of Barbados’ creative economy.
